Sally has a Student Support Group. The members are her foster mother, Marie, her teacher, Jason, and the Assistant Principal, Mrs. James.
Sally’s school has used some of its Program for Students with Disabilities funding for extra help from teacher assistants who move between classrooms as needed. One of these staff members, Marlena, is also part of Sally’s Student Support Group. The group meet once a term.
Sally’s Social Worker has been able to get high needs funding for Sally’s foster mother, Marie, which she uses to pay for fortnightly sessions with Poppy, an Occupational Therapist.
Poppy can’t join the Student Support Group meetings, but she does share Sally’s occupational therapy goals with the school through Marie. Poppy does this by giving Marie written reports, summaries of progress and some video of Poppy working with Sally to demonstrate specific ways of working.
