Jamal’s team have met to develop his Individual Learning Plan. The following are some goals from his plan:

  1. Jamal will consistently identify by touch and a smile a range of preferred items that are handed to him and will extend the ability to select items of particular textures when they are named to him (for example, a banana).
  2. Jamal will become more independent in basic eating activities using his fingers or a fork by reducing reliance on the physical assistance of others to spear food or raise it to his mouth.
  3. Jamal will tell his teacher when he needs a break from interactions with others by using a simple manual Key Word Sign for FINISH (thumb up moving right to left).
